Silverback

Silverback's receive there name from the distinct silver hair that grows on their back.

  Silverback's are adult gorilla males 12 years       or older.Silverback's are the alpha male           and the group leaders. Groups can be as   large as 30 gorillas and the silverback is always the center of attention and the decision maker. Task include mediating conflicts, leading the group to feeding grounds, movement of the group, responsible for the well being of the group and will care for young orphans.
